May be stupid question, just bought my first mustang, it’s titled as 2009, but door jam tag states built in 2008. I’m just confused by this, anyone know why? Thanks

new model year typically begins production in Aug/Sept and is available for sale in Sept - been that way for decades - industry standard practice

Mine was built in November 2005 and first registered in March 2006.

built August 2011, I bought it in November 2011. It's a 2012 model year.

Modell year is important to know if you look for spare parts.

My 05 GT was built and delivered in 03/05. As I discovered over the years, on some parts of the car, Ford used leftover parts from 04 models. The front wheel bearing and retaining nut are from a 04. The crankshaft and rear main seal are 04. I know there were a couple of other minor examples, but my old brain cannot recall right now.
