Couple of budget friendly options on ebay.

A big performance improvement also is the Ford cut and clamp x pipe. The factory chambered hybrid h pipe really holds the car back. Once I changed to the x pipe, the car didn’t feel held back anymore when accelerating.

Did you remove the cats, or just change the H pipe to an X?

No, that cats stay. The pipes get cut about 12 inches after the cats.

I think we found her overheating/losing coolant problem. It was the cap on the reservoir tank.

We found a decent set of 9.5 x 19 black sve wheels. Layla’s dad ordered her a set of NT555s to go on them. They delivered today. We’ll get them mounted up and she’ll get a nice Christmas present.

I liked the Nitto 555 G2 on my 2013. At first I thought "not good though this time of year" and then noticed you are in Louisiana. We have snow here in Michigan and they would not be good here.

I guess my biggest concern is how well they perform in the rain.

Got Layla’s tires mounted up. Gonna do a little touch up to them and try to repair the center caps.

Any of y’all know an easy way to remove the clear SVE center from the backing plate?

Got the wheels and tires on her car today. She’s at her mom’s until tomorrow! She is going to be so surprised and happy! Her dad bought her some VHT caliper paint, but it was just too damn cold in the shop tonight for that. 20 degrees out this evening. That’ll give her a reason to come down and work on it!

Is there a problem with these cars leaking coolant at the back of the intake? A coolant crossover or something?

If there's a coolant leak in that area, it's probably from the heater hose assembly that runs in the engine valley under the intake manifold.

    Is that a common problem?

It's a problem that all S197s will face at some point because the heater hose assembly will eventually degrade. You can prolong its life (and the life of other cooling system components) by replacing the coolant at the recommended intervals with the correct concentrate plus deionized water. NEVER use tap water unless you need to temporarily replenish the cooling system in an emergency situation.

Yes, coolant needs to be changed at 6 years from build date or 160k, whichever comes first. After that every 5 years or 100k, whichever comes first.

I changed mine in 2020 as my car is a 2014 but only had 20k on the car. It’s fairly easy to change.

Took the car to the local Ford dealership (car is under warranty), they claim it is the water pump and changing it under warranty. I can’t imagine why it was leaking at the back of the engine if it was the water pump. But, hopefully they will find it after they change the pump.

    Great news!

You might want them to check any other outstanding recalls. My 05' and 06' GT's had the airbags done a few years ago.

Bye the way, that's a sharp looking car!
