I don't care about how much they cost, I just want a good set of pads and rotors for the street that could also be used on a track. I don't care about noisy brakes either etc I just want the best set I can get a hold of. Eventually, I'm getting the gt500 front Brembo brakes but for now, I'm on stock brakes so I need some suggestions. These are what I have on the front and rear right now

They aren't too bad but i feel like there may be better options out there.

I've always been a fan of EBC pads and rotors for all my bikes and cars but I just got a 4 disc Wilwood set up for a custom set up and their shit is quality.

You don't want drilled rotors on track, only smooth or slotted. Kenny Brown claims slotted generally move debris away better. I have StopTech/Frozen Rotors Cryo slotted rotors up front and I've been using Ferodo Racing DS2500 pads on all 4 corners. They are a great street/track pad and have much less squeal than most similar pads, and are much easier on the rotors than Hawk pads.

I melted the piston seals on my stock 2 piston brakes on my second track day so those are one of the first upgrades you will want to do. I did the StopTech 4 pistons up front and I've been very happy with those. I have also melted the seals and replaced my rear calipers 2 times so far. I have my stock Roush slotted rotors on the rear still, even after 30 track days and almost 60,000 miles.
You will also want stainless braided brake lines and Motul RBF 600 brake fluid.

Zeckhausen racing (US StopTech Distirbutor) has StopTech and Brembo Stuff, and Dave Zeckhausen is a great guy, you may want to call him and ask him what to try. Leave a message and he usually calls back shortly. He recommended me the Ferodo Pads and I also got my stoptech's thru him.

I was just looking over those power slot cyro rotors... that shit is crazy! I think I know what set of brakes I'm buying now!

100% what JJ said. Zeckhausen racing, Dave knows his shit! Dude is sharp and knows his braking products! My Stoptec calipers and rotors paired with the posi quite pads are top notch. Almost zero brake dust from them.

Ford rotors work well (see corner carber section) and I found that to be spot on. They never warped on me. Good for about a 1000 track miles, and I use up 2 sets of DTC 60 pads in those 1000 track only miles. For street, I actually like factory OEM pads. I have not found a set of pads that work well for both, street and HPDE. Since I swap wheels for track duty, swapping pads and rotors is no big deal.

I just received a set (all 4) of powerstop slotted rotors. I may be able to test those on 10/5 at Summit point. Those also cost 2x than Ford rotors, so if there is no noticable improvement, I will be going back to Ford rotors. Was going to go with the cryo set, could not find 13" fronts. Only 14" that wont fit right now.

Love to put Wilwoods on, but the kit is not direct bolt on, and those are fairly expensive. Seem to remember reading somewhere Wilwoods ars great for track but not so much for street.
Brakes are disposable and track time eats brakes, so brake costs matter.

Yes the StopTech's did increase the front rotor size to a 14", 355x32 same size as the GT500. I also need to upgrade my rear rotor size as that is part of the issue with me melting the seals on the rear calipers. Because I have an automatic and not a manual trans and because I drive with hand controls and I don't have downshifting ability, I'm a bit harder on brakes/rotors. I also need to get some brake ducting!!

Juice do you run any brake ducts?

Given that you don't mind a bit of noise, give some thought to Carbotech or G-loc pads (same formulations, actually). Compounds up to Carbotech XP12/G-loc R12 are actually quite streetable and don't eat rotors like Hawk pads with any claim to track capability do. They do make some dust, but so do just about all pads with any track cred.

As of this moment, my '08 (stockish power, only the FRPP cold air & tune) has been riding on R10 front pads on the 14" SVT/Brembo brakes and XP10/R10 (not sure which) on the 11.8" OE rear brakes. Centric plain rotors.

When I was still running on the 12.4"/2-piston front brakes, I'd worked my way up to XP12 pads there.

I do remember the first couple of stops on a morning with XP12's when temperatures were in the 20s F and lower that 'bite' was a bit soft on the first couple of stops, but improved after that. CT's 1521 Bobcat is supposed to be entirely compatible with their XP compounds, and the same goes for G-loc's GS-1 street pad and their R compounds, so you could just do a pad swap if your winters get colder than they do here in the greater Philly region.

I consider myself to be an intermediate-level driver even though I run in advanced groups with SCCA's TNiA and at events put on by my home track (NJMP).

I ran centric rotors on the fox body. They are good too. But cost the same as Ford OEM.

Couple of my buddies are running the G-Loc pads and have said great things about them as well, I'll definitely look at them in the future.
Norm how are they on dust? The Ferodo's I have are not as bad as Hawk, but still give a fair amount.

Here is video of one of my last track days at Road America in July. I was running Hawk DTC-30 pads up front and HP+ on the rear. I could out brake just about every car in my run group, not the fastest run group, but I am one of the fastest cars in my group there. Been driving on track 10 years now and I consider myself an intermediate HPDE driver as well. I run in the Intermediate/Advanced groups together at BIR and have run in the Intermediate group at RA as well.

Here is at BIR with the Ferodo Racing DS2500 pads running on the short track with intermediate group. You can see how I drive one handed with hand controls.

EDIT: forgot to mention my tires this year were Firestone Indy 500's
In the BIR video I'm running Mickey Thompson Street Comps.

No lie, they do make some dust. But even the 12's are no worse than HP+ and might even be a little "less bad".

Here's a picture showing what's typical, though I have no idea how long it had been since last cleaning them.

What you really need to know about me here is that detailing in general (and wheels in particular) has never been something I enjoyed doing, so I tend to do as little as I can get away with doing. Possibly this is because all of my cars have to live outdoors 24/7 (garage is really too small for one car, let alone three or more), and partly because by the time I'm ready to get to the wheels (they're last on the list) my lower back is usually telling me it's had enough of the bending over and scrubbing to put much effort into the wheels.

Once in a while I'll hit the wheels separately and actually spend a little time at it, maybe once or twice a year, and they actually clean up reasonably well. Near as I can tell, this was XP8 dust. 10 and 12 dust is more and darker, but comes off with about the same amount of effort.

Before (I'd probably hit them gently during the previous car washing)

Do you guys have problems with the tires rotating on the wheels you use? With the Firestones I rotated my right rear about 6 inches on my 20" Roush wheels at Road America running 34 psi. Last year on my 2018 PP1 with the 19" and Michelins I rotated all 4 several inches at RA.

I had tires move on old Cragar SS wheels way back in the 80s. Never had it happen on any vehicle or wheels besides those Cragars.
But I mount my tires mostly dry. The inside bead pops on without effort. The outside bead gets snug after half way, that is when I spray soapy water on the bead.
Maybe shop used too much tire lube? Just a guess.

That could be the case because I did have to clean a bunch of extra shit they left on them when I had the Firestone mounted. The Michelins were the factory stock tires on the 2018 though, only had 2300 miles on it when I took it on track, and I was surprised I rotated all 4 on that.

Hi I saw your post and thought I'd chime in when I did my brakes I went with the Power Stop Z26 Street Warrior brake kit. It came with front & rear pads all the grease clips needed and drill and slotted rotors. I have enjoyed these brakes and had a few close calls when I needed to stop really quickly on the interstate in morning rush hour traffic they have preformed like a champ never letting me down and always stopping on a dime. They also don't leave gobs of brake dust on my rims which is great because I hate that. So theres my two cents take it for what its worth. https://www.powerstop.com/product/p...MI-KXtg8Dw6wIVwRd9Ch3J2wEaEAAYASAEEgJScPD_BwE
