This issue has been up a number of times. I have a 2008 GT/CS convertible, V-8. It has idiot lights. I posted on this site, asking if I could upgrade to all gages. There was all kinds of helpful information supplied by members on this forum and I did have the dummy plug on my dash with the wires plugged into it.

Armed with all the information I went to the local Ford dealership and they wanted over a thousand to to do do the upgrade with no guarantee that it would work, nor would they refund my money if they had to take the part back out. Additionally, the question of reprograming the security system was discussed and the dealer said they didn't know how to do that step. I wrote to Ford, Mustang Division asking for help and they didn't respond for months, finally a letter of no help wishing me good luck.

So, I gave up. I wanted to do this to the car because certain times of the day you can't see the speed gage at all.
