car looks great Bad06stang, are you running gt500 mounts Id guess? if so spin them around 180 degrees when mounting them, they are installed with the arrows out normally, when mounting them with the arrows pointing in, this gives back some positive camber, keeping most within spec

here this isnt a very good picture but I took one today. I am totally happy with how the car sits now, just need to put in my camber bolts and get it aligned it will be perfect then. I really need to do an UCA and LCA with relo brackets with these springs though.

Because they are too small and they cause other issues.

Its easier to rotate the mounts and get the same results without fear of a part failing. Several of us have done this and then got aligned. Everything is within spec after rotating the mount.

Listen to James, every Member on here using the GT500 mounts with lowering springs has done it that way for a reason... it is safe and it works.

Thanks for the advice guys, i have done the strut mount trick before on S197s with success. I was planning on doing it with this car as well, I just forgot about it because I was in a hurry. I was already planning on taking it apart to spin the mounts, I just thought that I would need the camber bolts too because the super sports are such an extreme drop. has anybody been in spec with H&R super sport springs with just turning the strut mounts backwards? These springs drop 1.7" in the front (plus the 1/4" from the konis) and 2.4" in the back.

fyi, you only need to remove the four nuts that secure the strut mounts to the chassis, then put a jack under the control arm and lower it just enough for the strut mount studs to clear the chassis enabling you to spin the mount top 180 degrees

Very interesting.

What about the new 11+ specific Koni strut? Is it shorter also?
From what I have heard, yes if you mean the Sports. I am not sure about the new '11-'14 STR-T's though, does anyone know for sure, BMR Tech????

You can use the OEM '11-'14 mounts now if you want though since there are '11-'14 specific struts now, not the GT500 ones that seem to have random issues. I would recommend buying a new set of '11-'14 strut mounts anyway though, and they can fall apart when you remove them if you aren't careful. Plus a new set is only about $50...

Yeah the STR.T's are what I was looking at. Don't want the front to drop anymore either. I've had my OE strut mounts off and on couple of times now with no issues. Figured out how to keep them from falling apart.

I’m new to the mustangs .... so hopefully I’m not asking a dumb question but what is the difference between the gt500 strut mounts and the standard Gt mounts and can you reverse the standard mounts also for more positive camber. Thanks
