I have recently bought a 2010 s197 off the Facebook marketplace it runs well and everything is currently -getting fixed the rack and pinion and 2 seals. But I want to make other modifications to my car once this is finished and one of those is installing a PKE kit. Yes I have seen somewhere you would still need to have the key in the ignition ( which is kinda dumb in my opinion) and then push the push-start button but the one I want to install is supposed to replace the entire lock cylinder just like in the 2016-now models of s550s and i was wonder if that would be possible?

Up to you, it's your car. Just a word of caution. I have a dealer keyless entry with remote start and it failed on me putting me in a No Start situation until I replaced the control module. Luckily, I had ran across exactly the same unit online a couple of years prior and fortunately bought it since they're no longer available from the dealer (or anyone else). If you do pull the trigger I highly suggest you buy two complete kits (just in case you need to replace parts of it down the road; also, remove the batteries from the remotes for storage).

just use the stock fob and key, you're only going to make problems for yourself

What do you mean by the "trigger" and two kits this would be my first time installing one of these

"Pull the trigger" .... aka: "Buy It"

The recommendation to get two kits is if it ever fails you have exactly the parts needed to replace it. However, I have to agree with Racer47. No need to create a problem if things are working well. Electrical gremlins can be particularly difficult to solve in these cars especially where the security system is involved. Believe me, you can brick a car real fast if you're not careful.
