Hello there,

Can someone please help me? I am about to cry and give up on taking my engine out!

I removed all bell-housing bolts and related bolts to remove the engine. I hoisted the engine and pulled, it would not get pulled out!

I went under to see and it seems the driver side is coming out but the passenger side trans is stuck to engine. I checked many times to see if I missed a bolt and I didn't. Can someone please advise me what I can do in this situation? The engine is partially removed and the other side is not....

Please Help :(

Probably stuck on a dowel pin. There are 2. One on each side to align the transmission with the block.

its weird because the driver side seemed to me removed but passenger side isnt. i actually sprayed the stuck side with PB blaster to see if it will help. seems to be rust stuck there.
its a manual so i took bell housing bolts, starter out, exhaust bolts and engine mount bolts out.
going to give another try right now.

You may need to loosen the front trans mounting bolts and maybe jack the front of the trans up a quarter-half inch.

A week old, but:
- did you remove the top 2 bolts behind the intake manifold?
- if automatic, did you remove the torque converter nuts (through the starter hole)?
- are both mid-motor mount nuts removed or mounts taken out?
- are both ground straps disconnected (driver side and large on on passenger side)? Not preventing separation but would grab when pulling out.
Otherwise IF everything is off and loose, including exhaust on both sides, support the trans bell housing as mentioned, raise it up a little, and continue to pry apart on passenger side. You'll need to keep the driver side up close, too, to prevent sideways binding on the 2 pins/guides. But it sounds like it's sticking on the passenger side dowel/pin.

wow.. you guys..
I finally got it!

86GT was right. i went back to sq 1 and started again. bolted driver side down to have engine mate to trans. this time i removed from passenger side first. still stuck.

the engine is detached and removed. it was the stuck dowel pin on passenger side! fooqing dowel! watched a lot of videos on others how they removed and decided to torch and pry with a small screw driver. it ended up fooqing working!! im so happy and glad it worked.

thank you guys and love yall.
