Okay, the road course season is behind us and the holidays are ahead of us as we perform repairs and install performance upgrades for the road courses over the winter in preparation for an even better 2014 season. What have you done or plan to do to your Mustang to chew up the asphalt and represent the Ford brand?

For me, it was tuning my new JDM forged 5.0L 3V and tweaking my rear suspension with some new BMR components to replace my worn out parts, which have served me well. Conducted a NASA HPDE inspection to ensure all is 100% ready for next year; installing filters, fluid, rotors and pads.

I have to admit as a Corvette driver that enjoys smacking down Porsches, Vipers, BMWs and the occasional Ferrari, I really enjoy driving this Mustang GT around the road courses. The car continues to impress me as I've applied the right combination of upgrades to give me balanced reliable performance.

My goal is to continue taking my daily driver to events and surprising the occasional Corvette instructors. LOL Hope to see several of you at VIR, Summit Point and NJ Motorsport courses next year! Happy Holidays everyone. Mike

I got a removable steering wheel and hub adapter that is going in. After that I'm looking at the Ford racing intake manifold, cold air box and a tune. New belts for the drivers side and possibly a new seat.

I visit all those tracks, let me know what events you are planning on attending

hopefully ill be able to get out to a few events this summer. working on the house all year really put a damper on doing anything with the car last season. ill be installing a Paxton, mutha thumpers, the whiteline front cross brace, stainless brake lines and a few other odds and ends. im thinking of going to either a coil over or air ride system at the end of next year

Got whiteline sway bars, front and back, just ordered my Forgestar 14's 18x10s with hankook rs-3 285\35\18 tires. Will order a Cobra imola or suzuka seat , a harness bar and harness probably next month

This is all to run STU next year and run HPDE's to pursue a license.

Adding LCAs, LCA relocation brackets, and whittling trans mount insert. Saving for wheels, tires, event entry fees, and maybe another evo school (or two)

You jumping classes? I didn't think the relocation brackets were ok even in ESP.

My plans are a fairly half-assed jump to STU. 18x10 SVE Drifts, 285/35 RS3's, and some Steeda sports to go along with my Konis.

I want to take the carpet out and all the NVH material. Then have the lexan windows I got installed. Maybe remove the air conditioner if it's not to much.

Just did phase 1 of my build which I full Whiteline suspension, Cust BC Racing BR coils, 14" Brembo package with Slotted rotors. Phase 2 is going to be 1 piece ford racing seats, 10pt cage, quick detach steering wheel, harnesses, Aim FR500S racing dash. Phase 3 will be tune, cams, Ford Racing Manifold, Airraid Racing CA(most Power) Longtubes, off road X, one piece Driveshaft, remove stock fuel tank for a trunk mounted cell. I'm sure their will be other add ons but that's the plan for now. If I can afford it next winters project will be throwing away the 3v for a 358ci ford pushrod motor like TMS just not the Roush Yates stuff. To expensive for me! LOL!

I'm done with upgrades at this point- at least that's what I tell my wife... I plan to review the lap videos and notes from my session with Mike Skeen, he compared the traqmate data between our best laps in my car. His best lap time was 2:12 vs mine at 2:22. My goal is to make it into the 2:19's next year. Of course VIR is widening some sections over the winter so all lap times should improve.

Meanwhile I'm rebuilding a quarter midget for my 7 year old. Not corner carving exactly, all left turns, but it's motor sports and looks to be safe, and a good family oriented organization. Fabbing mounts for a nice kirkey seat right now.

Project Tilty is done. I'm not adding anything to this car for next year and I might actually not even compete next year. I have weekends off during the Academy and will try and get out and Autocross but National Tour stops are out of the question and who knows if I'll make it to Nationals or not. The goal is to have a 2015 Mustang 2.3L Turbo prepped for the 2015 Season. Ford has to hit my weight goal, otherwise I'll have to chose between keeping my 09 GT and going to ESP with it or buying a new one or a different car all together.

It'll be tough to get to all of these in between track day weekends :)

Yea I found these parts for a good deal so I figure I'll throw them on for now. I'm not quite in a situation that I can fund tires (unless there is another stupid deal on hoosiers lol) to be competitive this year so I'm just going to focus on getting more seat time and trying out an HPDE event or two.

VERY COOL! I wish you the best of luck with your son. That has to be a blast to be able to do something like that. I hope he becomes a real hot shoe. Midgets are a bunch of fun.

That little tiny racing seat! So small! I bet its hard to get racing seats for kids because they grow so fast.

Apex50 and Knownukes, looking forward to running with you at a few events next summer at VIR, and possibly Summit Point and NJ Motorsport Park. The SVT Cobra Mustang Club (SCMC) events are always an awesome time. I'm looking forward to setting some new lap times with the JDM 5.0. Some of you guys have some serious ($$$) projects this winter! Bill, did you pick up a race car? jayel579, I should have my HPDE calendar figured out by the end of February. I'll be new to the NJ road course, but looking forward to it! sholzer, hope you get an opportunity to run VIR next summer during the SVT Superfest. It's an awesome road course; one of the best. Mike
