Yeah, it might be. the slop looks like (I will confess I am no expert!) it is in the gears/rearend? The driveshaft and pinion flange move together and the whole thing has some play in it. I don't expect it to be rock solid or things would break but never really noticed the clunk until recently? Just an annoyance...

The 8.8's have what looks like a lot of backlash. It's unlikely it's in the rear end. They are pretty bulletproof.

My '14 has an annoying clunk in the transmission itself. I went through checking all the stuff you're checking before removing the front of the driveshaft and reproducing the clunk by turning the transmission output shaft by hand.

Anyone have any experience in getting rid of the clunk in the drivetrain? Drive shaft specifically? I can turn it about a half inch so ever time I let off the gas, change gears, etc. there is a clunk. Quite annoying..... 6-speed, one piece driveshaft, factory 3.73 gears.
Normal AFAIK. There is slop on this car and was there on my 4.6 3v. It gets more noticeable when you swap out the factory driveshaft and rear suspension parts.

Ordered the replacement engine. Now just have to figure out why the Hellion is overboosting and convince my wife I have it solved!

Replacement engine? I thought you had this all fixed up and were on your way? What's up? Sorry you've had to go through all this.

Blew engine #2 first WOT data log to 7,000 rpm. Lost a piston, again. Hellion is trying to figure out why it overboosts.

Who's paying for these engines?
I paid for the first one, but the second replacement was under warranty

Today just gave it a nice wash today, first time I've washed it myself.
Also within the last week got new tires on the stock rims, went up to 255 and also got a new radar detector after blowing the speaker of my old one.

got under my car to install the BMR A-arm support brace and realized my car already had the Ford Racing lower control arm brace that apparently comes on track pack and premium package cars, so didn't bother installing it. stupid me for not noticing it before

Dropped it off at my friends shop to get 4.10 gears installed, intall my prothane motor mounts from last year installed and switch back to borla tourings in preparation for the hotrod cams sitting in the garage
Cant wait for the change with the gears and hopefully the prothanes help with my 3rd gear lockout

I finally unloaded it from the trailer from my last rental. I am in need of some clutches for the 6r80 now I do believe which was going to be done before I put this YSI on anyways

Yep, Track Pack and Brembo package cars for sure. Boss 302 gets a little air scoop added on (but see Terry @ Vorshlag for opinions on the effectiveness).

How close are they? If its just a little then you might be able to get away with some thin spacers from autozone
