Looking to step up the power a bit, and my 60's are only OK at the current power level. I am adding JDM spec cams, and plan to spray as soon as the cams are dialed in.

I have 17x10 Bogarts, and a smaller wheel is probably not an option. I'm also not looking to play with the suspension at this time, which is the stock Saleen PJ suspension with the front swaybar removed.

I've been running a MT ET Street Radial II 295/45-17. 60's are generally in the low 1.6's with the occaisional 1.59. Only slightly better than the M&H 275/45-18 I ran before.

M&H 325/45
M&H 275/50
MT ET Street 26X11.50-17LT
MT ET SR 275/40
MT ET SRII 275/45
MT ET SRII 315/35
Hoosier DR 275/40
Hoosier DR 315/35

Any experience with similar setups/power is welcome.

THANKS!!! :popcorneat:

As to the specific tire, I can't help you since I'm not near your power level. I'm running the M&H 18's now and love them. I do know that Mickey Thompson recommends bias on stick shift/trans brake cars and radials on autos.

I just got rid of a set of the hoosier slicks. Loved them. Had them on my last truck. They would hook 1.58 60's on the truck all night long. If you plan on driving to the track on them get dr's but if your swapping tires at the track get slicks.

I just sold a set of MT et street (bias ply) in 26/11.50/17 those bitches hooked like hell...I wish I had them back now..I bought Nitto NT05 r 275/40/17 they dont hook as well as the MT's.
If you have a tall enough gear, I would go 28's though..I have 3.55's so I went with the 26's.

I ran the 26/11.5/17 mickeys last thursday and they hook like mofo considering our horrible track prep I was still cutting low 1.7x and 1 1.64----For reference nearly everyone running the et street radial is lucky to cut a high 1.8x at our track.

You mean like this...vvv? :beerdrink:
Only two I know of:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOO-18157/
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MTT-3743/

The Mickey is a street tire, basically a slick with 2 grooves and 26" tall. The Hoosier is a slick and 28" tall.

I would go with the MT bias ply et street. Especially since i have skinnys for the front for track days. Before, I had my 20" wheels and 265 wide radials on the front with the bias et streets on 17x9 cobra r wheels....the rear swayed and wandered down the track...not good...I hear they wont do that with skinnys on the front. I need to trade my DR's for some bias plys now....I would not run them at all on the street though. If you are gonna run stickys on the street , better go with dr's..

I had really good luck with the M&H 325/45/17s in the past, my best 60' with that tire was a 1.412 at 577 rwhp. Later at 604 rwhp I was running the same tire but in a 15 inch wheel.

If you are going to go with a radial, I would try that---but don't drive in the rain with them.

If these are going to be for track only, if you can locate a 17 slick I would try that---only because they are more economical in the long run. The M&Hs are good for about 40 passes, maybe 50 at the most depending on the type of burnout you do--with slicks you can get alot more passes.

As said before bias plys are the best choice for a stick car at our weight level. DRs cannot recover fast enough on the 1-2 shift at that weight. Bias plys will last ALOT longer than a DR will. You will learn to love the "wiggle" lol.

I have had 275/50/15 and 26/10.5/15 Mickeys. I cut identical 60fts with both tires. The bias ply is a little more forgiving with a poor prepped track. The belted radial tires lasted 10x longer. I had well over 300 passed with John Force burn-outs and drove a good 1k miles on the street. The bias ply lasted maybe 200 passes and maybe 50 miles of street driving.

I was going 1.60-1.65 60ft on n2o. Stick car
