05,06 Fuel pump differences

Anybody know the difference between the 05 fuel pump hat assembly and the 06-09? Places like Rockauto say the orientation is different but will still work. I’d like to know how different.

I believe early models had an issue with cavitation after extended hwy cruises. I believe the issue had something to do with the orientation of the little sock filter. I sent my stock '07 pump to a guy in Canada and he swapped it into his '05 to solve his issues. I don't believe he had any issues with it.
