If your kid is old enough to be in a real seat like that one, then it needs to be front facing. otherwise put the baby back in the car seat with the base for rear facing.
That seat is configurable for both rear and forward facing.

Wrong. Actually, it is best for kids to stay in a rear facing seat as long as possible, due to their fragile little necks/spines. Many studies have been done that show that kids necks can easily be fractured when the vehicle comes to a sudden stop when in a front facing seat. It's just that most parents, me included, prefer the convenience of having the kid facing forward once they hit the one year mark.
