I am having the Techco Ram Air hood installed and painted black on my Grabber Orange GT. In the end I want to copy some of the look of the GTR concept. I am having the exhaust fabbed to be close to the same and will probably install the CS rear bumper with the cervinis GT500 side exhaust rear valances to cover the cut outs for the exhaust tips. I have not made up my mind on the front bumper cover yet.

I considered the Roush Trax Pak Carbon fiber wing but its WAY overpriced. They have the same wing just with the pedestal mount locations changed to fit other cars for $400-500.

So as of now I am looking at the steeda wings painted to match the black with pearl hood. I think it will make it much more balanced and look pretty sweet.

The other option I had was to just pick up a take off GT wing in black.

Well I purchased the 08 planning for a weekend track car not a drag car. Now I am not going all out crazy so an adjustable spoiler like the trak pak one is a bit overkill but I will need some downforce when running the car on the road courses near me like Road America, Homestead, & Seibring. So I do not think wingless is the best option. I did like the one on the Agent 47 S197 track car but don't know if I would like it painted black.

You don't think the car will look unbalanced with a black hood and the stock colored spoiler?

the aero dynamics of your car doesn't call for that type of wing. It is still a ricer look with that wing too. The only mustang designed for that type of wing is the Cobra R which with the dynamics of the body it is made for road track.

The only thing I would look for if you want to do a road course is a front end splitter. A wing will be pointless.

And your stock wing is for looks only. Nothing more. Save yourself the money for a good re-enforces front end splitter made for road course only.

Well I am doing a new front bumper, I was looking at the Steeda Comp front but really did not like that the splitter was built in and could not be adjusted. I do like what ford did for the FR500GT in FIA racing. (Did you notice its big spoiler, I do not think they did that for looks).

I am looking to see what is the best option for a bumper that has ducts that can be used for brake cooling as well as have CF splitter attached that can be adjusted and replaced. I might get the steeda and mod it but at $700 its pricey to be cutting it up.

I am also going to have a local shop fab a belly pan for the car as well. I am still up in the air on suspension. Since I am only doing it for fun I do not have any class rules to meet so a SLA setup is an option for the front. The griggs mid level package is a nice setup but at 10K its a bit steep. MM has not released a full package and the Agent47 is about $4k for the front.

The one item from talking with corner carvers that I did not realize was so expensive is the diff cooler. they tell me its around $1200 for the setup. I never imagined how much I would be spending outside of the engine/suspension. Once you start adding up all the extras it adds up real quick.

If it was your street car I would say go for the Steeda Street wing.
Since it is a race car the Steeda Race wing will suit it.
I guess I'm a little biased.

You car looks great. I love that front bumper, I really need to talk with a couple race shops and see if we can come up with something to put a adjustable spliter on it to make it more functional.

I see you did not go with the fog lights. I need to find someone that has them and see if they are worth it. I am removing my headlights and going to use the agent 47 grill with some piaa driving lights inplace of the fogs since FL does not have an annual inspection I should be able to get away with it for its limited street use.

I have the street wing. I noticed a nice diff in straight-line stability over 80 and the back sits down nicely on the high-bank curves at 120+. No idea how to measure downforce without a wind tunnel though.

I stayed away from the race wing to avoid body work from removing the stock wing. Plus, I think the race wing looks a shade to high for daily street use.

A couple of ways to measure the downforce of the wing with out a tunnel. A common grassroots way is to put a spring between the trunk and car so that as pressure is applied to the trunk it presses down on the spring. If you have a pot with an arm on it attached to the trunk it will measure the travel as the spring is compressed. Then you take that data that you logged and compare it to the what the spring ratings are at that level of travel (you can measure the spring rates yourself with a scale).

Also if you have travel gauges on your suspension and datalog them with your speed you can measure the diffrence in travel between laps when on flat even surfaces so that when you adjust your spoilers you can see added downforce or lift. While you will not get an actual downforce number you can get a general idea and helps setup the car.

A quality sensor for measuring suspension travel is about $250 each corner so its only for those with big bucks that really like to datalog

I actually do have the fog lights installed.
Those were the early pictures when it came back from the body shop.
They work quite well and give a lot of peripheral light.
It uses the Hella 80mm DE projector fog lamps 74407.
I will be converting them to HID over the winter to match the Saleen HID's on the car.

STEEDA= overpriced

Sorry, their is so much better stuff out their for suspension. I lost all respect when they told me that subframes on the s197 are pointless.

The stuff Agent47 makes are a work of art! If you were to do anything, talk to them and they will point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the high praise:moon2:

Getting off topic here, in our opinion, subframes on the S197 are not worth the added weight vs. any possible benefit. If you want to spend the money and add extra weight to an already heavy car, go ahead. For a basic daily driver/ track combo vehicle, they aren't worth it.

Back on topic - The street wing has been wind tunnel tested by Ford and is used by competitors of ours such as Roush in various race classes. Depending on the class you're racing in, you might not be able to use an adjustable wing, so it will do the trick if you are hitting those types of speeds on road courses. The race wing is a little much for a daily driver.

HA HA
I did see the Roush with the Steeda street wing. I had to do a double take as I could not believe that they would use Steeda parts on the Roush car.

I am not worried about classes as I just run on track rentals for fun, I travel way to much to worry about doing an organized class as I would maybe make 1 event.
