Hello everyone. I have what I suspect is either an out of balance Spydershaft driveshaft and/or bad u-joints. Will have the driveshaft checked soon, need to know the proper u-joint size in case I need to replace them.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There should be a number cast into the u-joint.

If they are Spicer the 1330 should have SPR539 on it .. 1350= SPR199.

If you can't see the numbers, the 1330 joints use a 1.125" diameter bearing cap,

1350 use a slightly larger 1.187" diameter ..

Thanks very much. The driveshaft isn't out of the car yet so I can't see what brand or size they are. If they aren't Spicer, what brand would they be? I ask because Spicer is the only brand I know of.

When I had mine balanced they just checked everything and returned it like new. You might just ask whatever shop you bring it to.

According to the Spydershaft description, they used Spicer, so unless someone swapped them, you either have 1330 or the upgraded 1350.

NEAPCO makes some of the OE drivelines for Ford so their u-joints are good also.

Another thing to do is clean and regrease the slip joint .. My Shaftmasters DS picked up a vibration and I found the grease had started to hardened.
