single plane crankshaft questions

If the rumors are true and Ford is developing a single plane crankshaft Coyote engine, will we be able to use one in a 3v build? Would be kinda cool to build a high compression Big Bore with one of those cranks. Will one of those cranks stand up to some boost?

going from a traditional V8 cruciform crank to a all rod pins on a single plane crank is tricky

firing order will be different with a planar crankshaft as you truly alternate between banks on cylinder events versus a cruciform crank...

so different cams would be needed and the tune would have to change (not sure tuning software for our cars can even change firing order?)...

planar cranks are like having two 4-bangers from a balance perspective... planar v-8's (like in-line 4's) have a second order out of balance which takes counter rotating balance shafts turning at twice engine speed to have the smoothness you get with a crucifiorm v8 (with second order forces that cancel without balance shafts)... would be pretty rough without them, particularly at higher speeds

Since there is still a lot of engineering to be done by ford, it would be a bit premature for us to form an opinion on whether this crank could hold up to boost.
From what I understand, you would likely need a light rod and piston combo for balancing purposes so to me as a casual observer, the concern would be as to whether a strong enough rod and piston combo could be developed and whether costs would be reasonable.
