I'd really like some solid results and opinions on this ... I've seen very little information about it.

There's a few people who will say it kills your mileage and than some people who say it does nothing but the loss of weight.

And I had such high hopes for you man... but now you are gonna make me throw down on the search button comment for the threads that GI Joe and Chevy Killer and 05stroker have on here about removing it and what needs to be capped off and whether or not there needs to be anything adjusted in the tune, and how much weight savings, bla bla bla.....

Well after reading the linked threads I say its more trouble then its worth (18lbs) unless you needed that trunk space for some mods (like 05stroker).

I'm more interested in the little black thing in the engine bay. I'd like to make it go away, but I'm unsure of the effects other than a CEL and I'm not even 100% of that.

The tune will need to be changed to turn off the evap functions.
Then it's a matter of mechanical modifications, including removing of the solenoid under the hood.

Do you have to run a line for it to vent somewhere or can it vent right where you disconnect it?
If you vent where you disconnect it the there is a chance for fuel spill and vapor. Not to mention the exhaust that sits there as well . The way I have it is like the "old school" stuff and vent back to the filler neck . It can be done very cheap with some 3/4 hose , rubber gromets and such . I only used the push fit stuff becouse it was laying around doing nothing . Everyone must know I have not driven the car like this yet , but have put in and drained out 25 gal of fuel to check the flow . All was well . As for tuneing issues and MPG , if the stuff is turned off in the tune correctly then there should be no issue . Lets face it this is emissions crap and is not required for an engine to run correctly. It does have to be reworked to vent well with the crazy ass fillerneck we have . If you look under the car the filler pipe dips lower than the connection on the tank , thus no matter how slow you try to pump the gas the tube fills up and spits back at you . That is why alot say the can only get a few cups in at a time after doing this mod without venting the pass side tube correctly .

After I cut the spare tire well out this weekend and replace it with supports and some .040 alluminum flat sheet and dynamat the trunk there will be plenty of room under there . And should also loose that big ass "drone hole " in the prosses.

So what's the best way to vent it to not have an issue with filling up the tank? I'm just scared that my mileage will become 50% of my current mileage. LOL
