So Installed my Catless X pipe with no tune about a month ago. I used the spark plug non-fouler trick, so I wouldn't get the dreaded CEL. This mod actually works! I haven't received a CEL once. If anyone is considering going with an offroad exhaust without the expense of a tuner or tune, then this is a great alternative. My car drives the same if not better. I have better throttle response and mpg. Just thought I'd share...that is all...

Wow, thats pretty awesome. I'll save that page for when I do my exhaust, as I plan on going O/R, and this is a sweet mod.

I did the same thing with my viper truck. It's a cool trick.

I picked up the real thing from Brenspeed for $20 including shipping. No drilling required on these.

Sorry to dig this up, even though its only a few weeks old.

So, if i get an O/R H pipe, install the foulers, and have my tuner turn ON the rear O2's, I wont have to worry about the CEL/emissions? (I know the owner of the station I get my sticker at, so the visual aspect isnt a problem)

Thanks guys.

I think I may try adding a 2nd non fouler to the BS ones to see if that works to make it more like the ones in the walkthroughs.

I've heard about people having to stack two foulers on there.

I wondered if it would work to buy a cheap O/R midpipe that works with your headers and have an exhaust shop cut/weld your stock cats in there. Then flow would be cut down enough to not get a code for emissions testing perhaps. High flow cats can likely still cause a CEL but stockers should not.

I wonder if you could do this with longtubes/no cats and pass emissions?? HMMMM? Might be something to look at for those who have them.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I just had my h-pipe installed. I got a new tune that was supposed to turn the o2 sensors off, but I think he forgot to do it. I talked to the guy and he said he is going to send me a new tune with them shut off, but it won't be until Monday. Am I going to hurt anything running the car with no 02 sensors (they holes are just capped) and them not shut off?

Longtubes, offroad x, Brenspeed nonfoulers stacked on normal nonfoulers - no cell so far and I am about 25 miles past the point where it would come on with only one set of nonfoulers.

The rear o2 can be shut off with no issues. Their job is only to detect if the cats are there and working. That's all.
