I've been working on my 65 fastback for a few years now here and there as I can get home to Wi (it has been residing at my Buddy Mike's house for way too long). Anyway, I'm running into a problem. I'm putting the stock 3v engine from my 05 in it. It's pretty much ready to start except it isn't starting. The FRPP ECM setup calls for an 07 engine wiring harness. The car has a T56 so we got part #8r3z212a581be which we were told at the dealer was the one for a manual trans, is this correct? The other one is A 7r3z12a581ba which one is the correct 07 wiring harness for a manual? Also what are the differences between the 2? We haven cut any whites but we have altered the wirelum to work better in a 65 and I'd like to make the one I have work. Wiring isn't all much fun.

Any help with this would be apreaciated.

Not plugged in right. I was freaking out a bit because I really didn't want to have to buy a new harness as I don't know if Ford will take one back that was bought 6 years ago.

I should maybe turn this into a build thread. My old cell phone got soaked and died with most of my pictures of this. The build has been going on for 8 years now as the car stays at my buddies house in WI and I'm in the army stationed at Ft. Dix NJ right now.

Basic list of what has been done:
Mustang II Independent front suspension.
Heights independent rear suspension with 9" rear end.
Wildwood disk breaks at all 4 corners.
05 3v engine (donated by Megan)
Shorty headers (because they fit, I don't even want to talk about my header nightmares)
T56 transmission with spec stage 3+ clutch
Custom drive shaft
Classic air Hvac
ISIS digital body wire harness

To do install:
04 bucked seats out of a Saleen mustang.
Dynomat interior.
Reinstall interior
Roll fenders
Find 17" wheels I like to replace 15" wheels
Get it dyno tuned once finished.

What ever else comes up that I haven't thought of.

Nice job!, I have a customer's 65 with my old 3V engine in it and a control pack, he should finish the exhaust soon, engine runs already. Will follow yours here too.

The 3v was what I went with when the 351 stroked to 418 became too much trouble getting headers to fit. After 4 header companies and 9 different headers I was assured would fit I said screw it and sold the 418 and just went with the 3v like I always wanted to anyway.

I can tell you something, that thing with a 3V will really move, the weight difference of these chassis with the new tech, just rocks.

I bet. I think it is going to stay NA with a good tune. The rear end came with 3:00 gears but I think that my be one of the few things I change once I have it on the street. I was thinking maybe 3:55 gears. I'm thinking 300 NA at the rear wheels would be pretty awesome.

So while I have been ignoring this thread, work has been done on the car. Suspension and engine trial install all done. Engine and trans were removed and the engine bay was blocked and painted, with all the excess holes being filled in. Suspension parts were also painted flat black. The engine and trans are back in the car, hopefully for a very long time now. I've decided on Bullet green for the body with the hood being flat black like one my 05. I really like how that cuts down on the glair while you are driving and it looks pretty cool too. I have pictures on my cell phone, I need to get them onto the computer or somewhere I can get them onto this thread.
