Man do those pictures bring back memories...I have had this happen 2 times to me and both were on the passenger side. I didn't know to weld them till after I joined this forum.

yes it happens when you dont weld them...
I have seen bmr bracket's do this even if they are welded.......cutting them off sucks.....seems to be getting pretty popular.....regardless of the brand it almost seems better to avoid the relocation brackets, not worth the trouble and in the op's case have the rear end shift to where body panels get banged up.

If you make over 450 lb/ft and/or are launching the car hard they need to be welded.

The CHE's are much heavier construction and, when welded in, nothing can bend. I've had mine for about 3 years, welded in.

Gonna be tough to completely avoid the brackets with my car. It hops like a bitch with just lowers and that's it.

Not real excited about welding the brackets in either in case they ever did need to come off. PITA. Price you pay I guess.

CHE's are beefier I would go with those nothing against BMR but look at the difference...

Looking at the pics it's easy to see why welding should be mandatory. But I also see a way to strengthen the area where the OP's brackets failed and folded like origami.

Adding material along the rear strap, especially if it's fully welded to the bracket and the material is set perpendicular to the original bracket, would increase it's strength a ton.

This looks very familiar. I was using the UPR brackets and they were not welded.

I now have the CHE brackets and they are welded.

Damn now I'm getting scared to put mine in. But I look at it this way, how many are out there installed and working fine compared to bending/breaking plus when it does happen bmr is right there standing behind there products
