BMR install - need help

I just ordered the new version of the BMR Xtreme Anti Roll bar and Im having a very difficult time installing it.

I took a couple pictures to help show where Im stuck...The bolts are not quite lining up and its starting to get frustrating...

As you can see in the next 2 pictures, I have installed the bolts in the back (closest to the rear bumper) and the middle bolt. However when I do this, the front bolt (closest to the axle) will not line up. Its almost there, BUT the bar is already hitting the frame and it wont budge anymore...I tried prying with a screwdriver in the hole, hitting, pushing (Im lifting the car when I push btw) and nothing is helping...

Now, when I take out the furthest bolt (closest to the bumper) and the middle bolt, I can put in the front bolt (closest to the axle), but then the other 2 bolts will not line up. You can see where its wedged, and it will not budge.

Any ideas???

Hell, I don't have center mount at all. Post a pic in a bit.

Im not sure if that is even required to bolt in the center, but I did just because it lined up perfect...The instructions are not that much of help bc they are based on the old design and it changed quite a bit.

I was more or less putting that middle bolt in to help hold it, but even if its out, it doesnt make it go in...It still goes in all wacky

Yeah, no center mount....... I see the front mount where the sway bar links mount. But, no center mount at all..... ummm....

Looks like the older ones only mount on two places on each side. The sway bar link mount and the back threaded mounted point on each side.

I tell you what, if I can't get my to mount it by bolts, I will have it welded in anyways for more support. Just hate to mess up the shiney new red powdercoat!

Yes, the center bolt in the picture is not utilized. It is ironic that there is a hole there, but it is not meant to be used for mounting.

The newer cars do not even have that mounting point.

As I was telling Brandon, there are over 50 of these being used now (new design) and this issue has not arisen, so I think you will be fine.

When and if Brandon removes that U mount, I think it will bolt right in with hardly any effort.

Too funny, it looks like the mount in the middle of the bracket gets bolted to the u bracket on the car. But, after looking at other installs of the older anti roll bar is clearly showed only two mounting points on each side. Like you said the newer cars don't even have that bracket, I know my does not.

Thanks for clearing it up for us and will post some pics as soon as I have a chance to install it on my car. Now I just need to get the k-member, a-arms and a driveshaft safety loop.

Yeah a bolt there would have been pretty pointless, wouldnt have helped support it in anyway lol, Glad yall got it figured out.

Kelly, Im kinda stuck in between a rock and a hard place...

car is currently on 4 jackstands in my driveway with the tranny underneath held up by a jack...I also dont have an air compressor yet which means I dont have any grinders, etc to cut the brace off. And I dont want to move everything out from under the car and tow it to a shop to have them cut it off...I guess I will have to (A) wait until I get it running to do the install (B) Go by an air compressor/air tools and do the install

Oh, and just like I did the install at first, I took out the middle bolt and still no go...Its still sitting at that horrible angle so that brace has to go for sure. I just put that bolt there to see if it would help line everything up...but like we talked about - its not there for a bolt. Might want to include in the instructions that if that brace is there, it must be removed. I think just that little thickness in the brace is causing it to not sit flush with the frame

Yes, I tend to agree.

I will put a note in to see if we can include that in the instructions.

Ford does some funny stuff. Unfortunately, we cannot design multiple parts for each and every Ford "why'd they do that" modification, we would have a hundred more part #'s. lol

I was looking at our build that we did in 2005, on our first project S197.....and noticed that it didn't even have those mounts.

This was probably one of the first few cars that was sold to the public.

Ignore the serious stuff, that car was nasty

Currie offers one, Strange, and Moser. As far as "bolt-in" capability....I am not sure.

We got this as a bare housing:

If yo uwant to get a 9" rear, Currie is the way to go. No modification to the car needed, and it bolts right up. Had mine in since 2006!

Been thinking about putting a 9" for awhile now. Owned a few curries axles in 4x4 Jeeps and such, with no problems. Also looked at the Moser M9 with the back brace and powder coated option. But, have heard of fitting issues with it. Still yet it is a sharp looking with its diamond housing and such.

So bolt in with no modification needed? What diff and spline axles do you run 94tbird?

Kelly, that is one sick axle. With alot of fabrication done to it.

Kelly, that is one sick axle. With alot of fabrication done to it.

Moser wont fit the car without modification. Search here an you can read about the guy who drove it all the way from toronto back to moser for a refund. many many people found this out the hard way

Currie bolts right in, no issues whatsoever.. I ran 31 spline with a tru trac and 4.11 gears till last week. I finally killed the tru trac. transbrakes and tru tracs dont mix. Now im running 35 spline and a wavetrac.
