I was informed by a reputable tuner that these modern PCMs have a permanent memory log that cannot be cleared, even by Ford. That's the whole point of this stategy - no way to hide the history of changes to the programming.

To the OP: I feel your pain, and the dealership WILL repair your car, just not under warranty. Why not take it to a tuner and have them go over it? This will probably be cheaper, and avoid further "history" with Ford... just a suggestion :)

Paul

The PCM has a field called date last mod, which shows how many key cycles and the date the last time the pcm was modified.

What I am saying is, since the OP had a tune but reverted back to stock, his "old performance tune" should have nothing to do with why he is having issues now.

So just so I have this correct. The issue your having is that short term always reads zero? Or are u still having issues with the measured AF PID ? have u started using gen 2?

Yes I have started using gen II live link instead of 6.5 for data logs.

All of my o2/fuel trims are reading correctly except for "short term fuel trim bank 2"

as stated before, SCT is terrible for logging, sometimes the pids get "stuck"

If you disconnect the battery to clear KAM and monitor pids again does that PID come back or reads the same. Just wondering if indeed that pid is just reading a default value or really dead.

I really don't like SCT to diagnose a problem. Buts all we have. IDS is better when it comes to this.

What I'm blown away is that they didn't fix it. Shit I fix cars even if they come in with tunes or mods all under warranty too. I wish there were more techs out there that care for customer satisfaction. ( dealer world )

What do the o2 read key on engine off?

latest firmware on the sct tuner allows you to clear the kam as well.

Resetting KAM or disconnecting the battery doesn't change how the PID reads for me. It still reads zeros

Are u kidding me. They said that? What jerks. Is there another dealer near by? Sometimes I'm blown away when I read this on forums and wonder why dealers are like this. I feel for you man.

And agree they should be at latest firm ware especially on these new cars.

Not sure what they read with key on engine off. I didn't know you could read PID'S with the engine off through SCT.

You should be able to as long as key is on. Well again I don't use SCT to diagnose when I have IDS. But should work. I just want to see if these sensors are bias. Usually when u want to check for bias sensors check them at KOEO.

I was a tech 15 years ago when I got out of high school. Now I have a real job.
.

A real job huh? Lol. Not sure what is suppose to mean. I'm a tech and consider it a "real job".
Sorry for the derailment, could not overlook it. By saying you we're a tech do you mean you changed oil? Not the same.....

Better not let him read this...remember he has qualifications that Ford engineers would bow to. He's some sort of engineering demi-god. ;)

Op - are you having any issues with lag during logging with live link?

Since both you guys are techs.......

What's your best advice for me to go back to the dealer with??

As of right now. I have a 3 month old car with 2500 miles that drives like shit that's also my DD. To add salt to the wound I also have a full paxton kit with all the goodies that is sitting in my living room as a $5000 paper weight until this whole thing gets figured out.
