Just want to throw out the closing of this thread. I did get the electric air pump and hooked it up. I was pulling from the drivers side, thru a seperator. I didn't get a chance to put the vacuum gauge on while I was driving, however, I barely was pulling 1-2"hg on the passenger side. This little amount of vacuum did not fix my smoking issue.
The smoking issue is now fixed and I am running breathers on the covers and fill neck. Nice haveing a vert, no cockpit smell......
The reason for this test was becuase when I pulled vacuum from the intake like stock, the car never smoked until in boost. The air pump could not get it done for me.
The end result, I now have a scavenger pump pulling the oil from the twins and putting back in the pan. Two days now, 10 psi whenever I can, not a single puff of smoke.
When plumbing up the scavenge pump, I noticed I still had a little oil in the passenger side turbo drain. When I took the barb out, I leaned back a little and notice the 1/2FNPT fitting I had welded in the pan was actaully pointing down slightly. I believe this was just enough to have the oil drain pool up at the pan and back up when I didn't have enough vacuum to stop the pooling..... Just for shits, this winter Im picking up another pan and will weld in some new fittings, but, pointing slightly upward this time!
