I had my Cobra Jet package installed by Mike and Ryne at Cunningham Motorsports.

I am 100% satisfied with the results

Here is a mod list on the car

New parts installed
Ford Racing Cobra Jet cams M-6550-M50BEXH and M-6550-M50BINT
Ford Racing Cobra Jet Manifold M-9424-M50CJ
Ford Racing Cobra Jet Throttle body M-9926-CJ65 (dual blade)
Ford Racing Cobra Jet CAI M-9603-M50CJ

Exhaust was already on the car before baseline
Bassani Xhaust long tube headers
Bassani Xhaust X Pipe with test pipe adaptors
Bassani Xhaust race catback

Ryne is an amazing tuner and he has the car running like a dream.

The baseline was 434RWHP and 354RWTQ on a Mustang Dyno The headers and full exhaust were installed before we got a baseline with out.

With the Cams, Manifold, Intake and TB the care made 473RWHP and 369RWTQ.

the car pulls very hard and sounds amazing. I was smiling ear to ear on my way home.

If you are looking to stay all motor I would highly suggest these mods.

Stay tuned for a full write up on www.stangtv.com for dyno videos and install tech.

When I was speaking with the Cobra Jet engineers at Ford Racing they said that the Mono blade is ideal for boosted applications.

The did not recommend it for this build.

Those are great numbers man!

Question for you on the STB - Which one is that and is there any rubbing on the hood liner?

I have the same Manifold and want a STB, but, I am worried that it won't clear with the hood liner on and stock motor mounts.

This is the stock Boss 302 STB. It does not rub on the hood liner.

Some people have had to run a 3mm spacer to clear the Cobra Jet intake but mine cleared with out a spacer.

Good numbers; my tuner wanted me to use the single blade to get the most air possible into the intake and the Rev Auto CAI is a true 5", pretty sure the Ford Racing is made by Airraid and is 4".

Greg,

The Ford Racing engineers, my tuner, and other people do not recommend it.

My tuner Ryne said that the twin flows 1500 cfm more than enough for our motors.

Understand and not starting a pissing contest, everyone has their own tuners/opinions on it!

I assume you are a manual?

I understand. I was just letting you know. I was working directly with Dave Born at Ford Racing for this build. He is the head engineer for everything Cobra Jet engine wise. So he knows what he is talking about.

Yes my car is a 2013 Boss 302. With manual transmission.

So the baseline numbers were with the Boss intake, correct? I am not up to speed on the cams part numbers, were they all 4 cams or just the exhaust? Any other head work while you were on there?

Just saw the INT/EXH at the end of the part numbers...oops.

The baseline was with full exhaust and Boss intake.

I switched out the exhaust and intake cams.

The heads were not touched.

Here is an email from Dave with the cam specs and part numbers.

Hi Mike. Following up on our conversation yesterday..

You should have rec’d the following:

M-6550-M50BINT

These were the production intent boss intake cams, but were dropped from the program in favor of carry over GT cams. These have 13mm lift and 263 degrees duration vs 12mm and 260 for the GT parts.

M-6550-M50BEXH

These were designed for use with long tube headers and have 13mm lift and 290 degrees of duration. Stock boss parts have the same 13mm lift, but 263 degrees duration. The GT parts are 11mm with 263 degrees.

Who is your tuner?

I agree on using the Single blade, but, the Rev auto intake IMO is a bad idea.

It is mild steel, not aluminum and caused bad low RPM maf readings. In addition, the 5" is too big for the SCJ Mono-Blade TB and is over kill. Granted, it is a nice piece, but, not worth it. I had a friend make me a custom 4.5" Intake which literally fits perfectly over the SCJ TB.

OP - Thank you for the info. I'm going to try and get one now that I know which one is is.

Mike Rousch at Mid Atlantic; no issues with the MAF here. Rev Auto is the only 5" intake on the market, all the other ones may have started at 5" but neck down along the way.

Not sure why you say it is overkill, it is the same price as the twin blade and moves a lot more air.

Do you have any data to back up your claim that the Rev Auto causes issues? Granted, it is SVTP but they are very popular on there and have not read of issues with them.

Yeah,

He told me that with out long tubes the exhaust cams wont help any.

Makes sense; when will you get a chance to take it to the track?
