So I ordered a rotating assm back on 6/19. I ordered it on the phone. I also ordered all the misc bolt kits and what not on 6/18 online.

It was a friday when I ordered so they mentioned it would be out that Monday and I'd get a receipt emailed to me and tracking whatnot. The guy on the phone seemed to have it together pretty good. I felt good about it.

It's 5 days from California to me, so I didn't expect anything too fast anyway. I called back the next week because I wanted to double check on the piston sizes and they were still notching the pistons on tuesday. Okay well guess not shipping monday lol np.

So another week goes by, no tracking, nothing. Kind of getting concerned.
I decide to chill and not call and just give it another week.
Well the parts ended up showing up middle of that week so hey, little over two weeks to get custom parts that seemed reasonable.

Turns out upon looking at the invoice, they spelled my name wrong and thats why I'm guessing I didn't get any tracking info via email as it has my name in it. Little mistake.

So I'm looking everything over - the forged crank was dry. Like 0 oil on it - that surprised me - I'm glad it didnt get wet going through UPS. I wonder who would have been on the hook for rusted surface areas?

Next up I discover no oil pickup tube is in my box. Turns out they forgot to put it in. Sigh. Okay.

So I call em up last week 7-6 or so and I explain there is no tube. The guy sounded way too eager to get me off the phone with yes yes we'll ship it out no problem. Trusting my gut, I called today and lo and behold, no one ever shipped anything lol SO word is they are shipping it out today. 7-15.

Sooo the verdict: MMR seemingly good products but really piss poor in the customer support area. If you expect the same treatment of ordering off of say Amazon.com, you won't be finding that with them. Would I pay the extra 15% I saved going with MMR to go with someone else next time with better customer support? Hard to say. I mean if you get all the parts eventually. Meh I know that couple hundred bucks can be really worth the peace of mind sometimes though. I'm crossing my fingers that my engine builder doesn't come back with any bad news in the next couple weeks lol

I hope for your sake this isn't the beginning of another long, sad MMR story. We've heard dozens of them and they all start out almost exactly like yours but get progressively worse. Anything you could possibly imagine going wrong wouldn't even come close. I truly hope you are the exception rather than the rule.

Shipping a crank dry is baffling.

It's really sad that that's all the issues you had. Like that makes it a good thing or something lol.

That sucks op best of luck.

Personally, from my experience with MMR in the past, I would have someone else go over everything you ordered and make sure it is what you ordered. Have a machine shop check out the pistons and crank for sure. One of the problems I have with what you have stated is there isn't a crank manufacturer in the country that would ship a new crank dry. So how did it become dry? Has it been turned, is it a new crank, are the bearings the correct size for the crank? I wouldn't trust MMR about anything in the order. For Dave
FUCK MMR!!!

A few years ago they shipped me a crank in its original Ford Racing box. Problem is that box normally rides in a few progressively larger ones with some packing material. Not this one, the snout and one of the counterweights were hanging out of the box. Looked like they kicked it out the door of the freight jet at 30,000 feet.

Somehow it checked out fine at the machine shop after all that.

Fuck MMR.

A buddy of mine recently built his 4.6L New Edge with some MMR parts. When he showed them to me, I just told him good luck. He is waiting for it to get tuned, and I'm waiting to see if it will blow up on him (not wishing him bad luck as he already has had quite a bit the past few months).

Can't believe the OP didn't run across all the "Fuck MMR" threads & posts scattered all over this forum. I haven't looked into doing any kind of rebuilding/upgrading on my engine & I know to NOT look at MMR for anything.

MMR couldn't get my sound tube delete kit right. I ended up having to source the part myself. If they frak up a $15 order, imagine what they can do to a bigger one?

OP, know how I know your dumb?

You didn't do a search before buying from MMR. Just one little search could have saved you what will be years of ass pain with your motor build. Or you could just get out now, try selling your MMR crap (on another sight as their name is garbage here) then order from a reputable manufacturer.

I would love to know how they stay in business. Somebody has to be getting good service, surely it's nobody on this site.

Volume and price. A lot of people do not look at forums, yet they blow motors and need parts.
