I'm disapointed and let down.

Sorry for your frustrations man.

how many times were you in touch with them over this 3 week period?

not saying it's ok, however with NMRA in full swing, Jim Sr. is not as available for tuning and this probably was a factor in the delay.

Guys please be patient, I know I have spoken to both of you and we are trying to get the tunes done. My father has been very busy here hence the wait. We are doing the best we can so it should be shortly!

The tracks been open for a month here and I cant get out to play either! So I know how you feel, just please be patient.

I am taking my car to a different tuner tomorrow, and that shop will be getting my business from now on.

It's too bad for you guys as I see $3500-$4000 in mods comming right up, as well as the dyno tunes to go with it.

Some people may be more patient than I am, but I don't have a $62,000 pile of reciepts here to look at, I want to drive the damn thing. I feel like I wasted the $1300 I spent with you in the fall for tuning, as I had a problem, and aparently a simple adjustment was too much to ask. I'm not a needy customer and I wasn't asking for hand outs or freebies.

If you dont or havnt used JDM, how can you say that they are a top notch company. Its just hearsay to you then. I too have had problems with them, Im sure quite a few others have as well. Seems just everyone likes to ride their dick for fear of getting flamed when talking bad about JDM. They havnt treated me well at all. More delays than necessary on simple and basic thing, poor communication where I have repeatedly called once or twice a day to check on an order that was extremely late not just caught up in customs or with the shipping company but with a delay of the product leaving their shop. On top of thisthey have made a practice with me of selling things that arent in stock, when I had asked if it was as I needed the part right away before a dyno session. I paid for the dyno time in advance and was out the fees for 6 hours of dyno time. Informed III and was told the part was in stock, 3 weeks later I had a message in my box that the part was in and will be shipped out shortly (prior to that, there was no communication on their end, not for a lack of me trying, just them not getting back to me) checked the date on the package and it still didnt go out for another 5 days. Im sure their service is great for a lot of people but if you havnt dealt with them ever, maybe its best not to add anything to this.

Where did anyone say that they responded to his email right away. Now that may be the case but I dont see it anywhere.

k_aimone, you trying for some discounts or a sponsorship or something?

Got my car retuned today, runs awesome!! I couldn't be happier. The guy had a bunch of time into making it just the way I wanted and was very fair on the pricing.

Oh and my tuner is 100% unlocked I won't, but can adjust any thing I want, datalog any thing I want........

No secret squirrel shit now. And after talking to the tuner, I'm very pleased. Very good guy to deal with.

I won't mention his name here because it is after all JDM's area. I'm tryingto show some respect.

There was no warranty on this stuff, I can buy a motor or supercharger any where. I may have shit where i Formerly spent my money, but as far as I am concerned, they shit where there money came from. I'll survive being flamed on here for posting an honest consumer report, and I'll live if my car breaks. Will JDM survive if they rack up a list of pissed off customers and failed promises?

That would be fine and dandy if they could promise it would just be a week or two, but who knows how long he'd be waiting. If a vendor can't meet your expectations, no shame at all in finding someone else that can (and it sounds like OP did).

The only complaint I have ever had or have ever heard is with JDM's turn-around time.

I definitely feel there is room for improvement there but IMO the quality is worth the wait, especially in my area where there are no tuners I am comfortable with.

Everyone has their own expectations, and mine are met well enough to retain me as a customer, at least so far. I am waiting on a revised tune as well, but I believe that when I get it it will be spot on.

I hope that your relationship and experience with your new tuner is a good one.

My buddy Lester who bought HDMILLENIUMS 428R planned on doing an auto to manual swap in that car this fall. He started asking JDM in October for a manual file so he could get the car running and get it to them for spring tuning. We did the swap and the updated tune file has still yet to be seen...... 5 months on that one alone.

ANNNNDDDD.......For those of you who think im just impatient on my first time dealing with JDM, let me further fill you in.

Last july i called to get an appointment for dyno tuning. At the same time i ordered a CJ throttle body, and a ported saleen lid. I was told they were in stock and available. After numerous phone calls between mid july, and my appointment around the first week in september, i was assured several time that "there shipping today", "They'll be here tomorrow and shipped tomorrow night".

2 days before my appointment, i called to cancel the parts order, when i was assured they had them instock, and could install them before my tuning session. I was pretty pissed and said no, i just want the car tuned at this point.

While at the dyno appointment, i was informed that my car needed new spark plugs, and i agreed, later in the day, i was informed that my SCT Xcal2 was "junk" by SR. and couldn't be fixed. So i had to purchase another one on the spot to the tune of $400. Those spark plugs mentioned above cost me $100 for the plugs, which is fair, but it cost me $200 for them to be installed..........

I sent my SCT back to SCT to be repaired and unlocked, and the guy at SCT said that there was absolutly nothing wrong with it, they unlocked it, and sent it back. I sold the SCT to a member of this site, who is still using it today, and it works fine.........

SO yeah im a little fucking pissed at the fact that 3 weeks of assurance that i could get my tune adjusted and emailed to me before opening day, and i got nothing.

And im not shitting on JDM, im simply flinging there shit back at them.

If a site member doesnt like me saying these facts, DONT READ THE POST!!

If JDM doesnt like the post, Sorry guys, treat your customers better!

You may forget the little people who pay your bills for you, but the little people never forget you.
