A: Those stupid-assed "qualifying" rules. First round is random pairing then only the second round winners are laddered based on how close they come to their dial-in of the first round. That is the dumbest fucking shit I have EVER seen in my 45 years of witnessing drag racing. ModMuscle class, Open Comp, Top Truck all utilize reaction times to establish their qualifying order. Why not Super Stang????

B: Weight limits. 3200 for N/A cars; 3400 for power adder cars. It's a goddamn INDEX CLASS for shit's sake.....who gives two fuckin' shits what the motherfucker weighs??????

C: Allow two steps for all cars....manual and auto. I mean...seriously. Isn't it much better to have someone "on the chip" at say.....4000 rpm instead of 6200 rpm???? Unless you like waiting for the track crew to clean up seven quarts of synthetic oil, two or three gallons of anti-freeze, and five or six connecting rods from the starting line......... :thud:

D: Courtesy Staging should be MANDATORY!!!!!!!

E: DOT wheels and tires required. Since when are Bogarts "DOT-Legal" wheels???? Just change the fuckin' wording to read "DOT approved tires required" and quit fucking around with the damn wheels. Nobody checks the goddamn things anyway.

Yes it is!!! LOL

We either play by their rules or find something else...Only problem is..Something else is going to be a shit load more money to play!!!

AND those rules for FS or PS sure do make it tough for a S197 with a 3V to play! Workin' on it though...

Sure did like Chris's version with Nates deal!!

I wouldn't bother trying to run F/S with a three valve. Pure Street looks interesting though. Cut the crank down, offset the rod journals, offset bush the rods, the .480 camshaft limit would be interesting to tackle. Looks like you can run the C&L intake and FRPP throttle body too.

I'm to the point of just spending the money on the Fairmont so I can go fast. Really fast. Like 7.20's at 195. Fuck this street car shit. $500 to win isn't enough to make me leave the house anymore.

What about the DR class. I love me some x275. I've been window shopping some roller DR fox coupes. Just not sure I'm ready for something that fast.

I am a friend of SD's, or I like to think so....

And I am not saying this to just be on his side.....the rules are a little, persay.....bull....

I agree completely with S.D., and the things he pointed out are a few of the reason's why I haven't entered Super Stang at some of the events...

D/R is wide open due to adopting the X275 rules (or close). That's another problem. There are a lot of things that are now legal in D/R that are STILL NOT LEGAL in SSO!!!! For shit's sake.....lexan windows, carbon fiber doors, any gasoline, dry sump oiling, blocking off the grille, radiator is not required.......all of this is legal in Drag Radial but not legal in the supposed "upper echelon" class of Super Street Outlaw. It is pure bullshit.

How the fuck are racers supposed to take advantage of the weight breaks if they cannot use MODERN race car components??? Looking at the weight breaks I can legally bring the Fairmont in at 2650 lbs with a 94mm or 2750 lbs with a 98mm turbo and a stock suspension setup. Anybody want to guess how far away I'll be if I had to use the goddamn factory glass in all the windows and stock doors/fenders?????

And for anyone who thought I was bullshitting about the "I quit" line in the first post.............
(crappy cell phone pics but no decals!!!)

I think the main problem is NMRA's Core/Long time racers have built there combinations to the rules and raced them for so long that I can see where they would be hesitant to shake things up for fear of losing what/Who they have..Not agreeing that things should'nt change but Holy shit! They are NOT touching the new Coyote engine with a ten foot pole..Get what I'm saying?

The coyote motor won't be allowed for some time... it's going to change everything for the mod motor rules lol

That motor will turn shit upside down!! LOL..can you imagine 600-800 lb weight breaks??

The point on the Bogarts is SST rules state "DOT" rims..I think it's just an over sight the way the rules read, but it should be changed to read properly..

And some of us throw full beer cans at people who annoy the shit out of us. Doesn't mean it's legal. If the motherfuckers are going to be nit-picky about a goddamn weight break in an index class then get nit-picky about every-fucking-thing in the rules.

How about that transmission rule????

Only specific OEM Ford transmissions permitted. C4 & C6 and non-Ford transmissions prohibited.
Well....specifically....which transmissions are permitted, Slick? I like how we know which transmissions are prohibited but we don't know which "specific OEM Ford transmissions" are permitted.

Fuck 'em. It's boring and travel is too expensive for the payout. Shit's sake...at least FFW paid us $1000 to win in Ultra Stang. All this shit for $500 to win? Nope....not happening.

Im just fackin around  lol

you are right though... need to be a bit more specific. This is one of the entry level classes I guess how they look at it, but the qualifying thing needs to be changed for sure. When they told me how it worked in Milan I was like :wtf1: lol...

The payout's I doubt will be increased... how much is entry again? 50-$80 a car? I mean $1000 would be great considering the amount of cars they get for entry... min 15 cars usually

Uhhhh...nooooo. Try $150 if you get there on Thursday or $105 if you get there on Friday. $85 if you arrive Saturday. Keep in mind that on Thursday all you get to do is park and set up your pit space. Period.

So, on average, $105 entry for a $500 to win race. Don't bother mentioning contingency either. Chances are you won't get half of them to pay and then you will wait a couple of months before you get it.
