I think it's open to interpretation, because I've seen a whole range of included items over the years. But basically a shortblock is an assembled engine minus the heads and valve train.
Does it sound like I'm trying to hide anything?

I "THINK" these are the same thing that they used. I don't know where they got them. But I just ordered 10 of these (minimum order) because I was re-doing my fuel pump wiring and Kenne Bell BAP. Shipped within a day and worked great for my needs...
Just confirmed with a multimeter, the wire goes to the 4-wire harness to the radiator cooling fan. It is the upper-right when looking at this connector:

Yes, forced induction for most of its life. I just had it dyno'd before we re-built my original motor to use as a baseline. 3.5 inch pulley (7-11 psi).

A local guy was replacing his '07 motor with a crate motor. I had bent some rods on my original '08...
So I went driving and logging last night. Everything seemed fine. AFR was good, so was fuel pressure. Also, the injectors and fuel rails seem really solid when bolted down. Looking good!
