Yea a little too far :P thank you though!!
The buffer does come with a 5" backing plate with 5.5" pads. Is that right or what does the extra half inch on the backing plate do?
Ah could be your wheel size. Think it goes up to a 315 on a 20" wheel, haven't checked out other sizes though. The 1.59 was cut on a 285/35/19 though with a Paxton.
Well with 5 hours left for the sale on auto geek, and how much the PC 7424 was praised both on here and other forums, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on it. Comes with 2 microfiber towels, 3 pads, the buffer, the backing plate, and a couple samples of some polish...
If there's nobody local to help me out, which buffer and pads combo should I buy? I'm looking on auto geek and seeing the portercable 7424xp which I've seen a lot of hype about, and also some Griot's buffers and pad combos which I've also heard about but idk which buffer model is good from...
Completely disregarded the 1.59 60ft on Continental street tires and went with more Nittos I see :(
Hope they work out okay for you! I'm going for the extremecontact sports once these lame NT05Rs wear out. I'm on all motor and still can't hook from a dead stop on these. Maybe 60 degrees out is...
I bought this car and it was dark when I did, and was 'impressed' with how the black paint looked. Then daylight came haha! I said I'd never buy a black car again because of swirls etc but here I am.
I was just wondering if someone could help me out with their buffer and knowledge, and show me...
Oh whoa, people are talking about me. That was me on ACMR lmao. Here was the time slip.
I did have to slip the clutch pretty hard to pull this time, and they aren't "spin proof" by any means neither on the street nor at the track, but they handle VERY well for a street tire.
As mentioned...
I was running a 285/35/19 Continental ExtremeContact DW tire and cut a 1.59 60ft on it in a manual paxton 2014 GT with over 700hp.
I'd recommend them, but they discontinued them, because they replaced them with what's supposed to be an even better tire. These are not drag radials, and I had...
Holy smokes you blew up over nothing.
Anyways
Car looks like it pulls good, much better than my old 3v with the M90. 11s should be achievable on a tire if you can drive well.
Are there any road race tracks or at least autocross tracks near me? I'm about 30 minutes from Destin, FL.
I'm moving to the area Jan 1st for military PCS (currently in Japan) and can't really find anything except drag strips. Was hoping someone on here knew of a local course I could start on.
Was considering buying this 2005 GT for a temporary car. New trans in it and sounds solid, only thing I hear is this and I can't identify it (not the injector tapping, has a rattle or something if you listen closely).
Thanks for any info.
