    May not apply to 3v but I had a 351cjt engine do this and it was broken rings in 2 cylinders.

    Jon Bond Performance...ever heard of him?

    I also had my Whipple rebuilt by Jon and he was great. Always answered his phone and took the time to answer any questions I had about reinstalling it. That was over 2 years ago and it's still going strong.
