Thanks for the reply! Turns out it was that, too, for mine. The alternator relocation on the Department of Boost GT450 kit has caused COP#5 wires to wear through the insulation on multiple cars (mine included). Put some conduit around it and hopefully that keeps the problem from happening...

Buy his long block, tear it down, buy a forged crank, sell the cast one, rebuild. Wouldn't be much more than $2300. Just the cost of difference of the cranks, head gaskets, maybe bearings? (I don't know details on the long block so I'm just guessing)

Quick update on 3/20/2014 Visiting Utah at the moment. Will return next week. Sold old block, crank, and cams on the drive here (thanks Mitch!) Transmission will be ready to ship out by Tuesday 3/25 Billet oil pump gears ordered, will arrive before I do. Cam sprockets will be ordered tomorrow...
