    Using flex additive like you would for painting urethane? It won't help with the expansion and contraction of the fiberglass but maybe it will make the paint less brittle and thus less likely to crack.

    Have you checked for leaks? I ran an off-road setup on another car and couldn't smell anything except, like bigray mentioned, when I was backing into the garage. I wouldn't say it's normal to smell it on your commute.

    Have you checked your battery? On a cold start in low temperatures, batteries require a higher discharge rate (more cold cranking amps) from a battery and if it can't be supplied, it may not have enough energy to turn the engine over.
