    Disabling ABS.

New sensors installed. ABS and Traction Control lights still on. Don't know if FailSafe is going to show or not. Have to wait till next weekends races. If FailSafe shows I'll try pulling fuses. In the meantime battery is disconnected so maybe it'll magically reset itself.

    Disabling ABS.

Have not posted on the site for a while. Hope someone can help. Before the dont do it responses start. Here is whats happening. Track only car. 8.8 rearend, spool, 35 spline axles, c-clip eliminaters. Past weekend at the track , on Friday night for a totally unrelated reason I had the drivers...

New gears, cut a coil, now terrible 60's.

Thanks everyone. All great suggestions. Yes, the tire are on their last two weekends. Still though, I am not getting any wheel spin. I expect some improvement with new tires. Now the big thing. Just spent a hour or so checking the measurments. Turns out the UCA is flat. Both front and rear...

New gears, cut a coil, now terrible 60's.

Car always runs 60 foots of 1.74 to 1.76 with occassional dipps up or down. I've always ran 4:10 gears. Late last year the track changed from 1/4 to 1/8 mile so this season I switched to 4:56 gears. 60 foots today were all 1.9's. Other than cutting half a coil out of the rears all suspension...

QA1 single adjust vs double adjust

QA Singles on front, Viking double on back here. I race in a straight line only. The corner carvers might have different opinions. I don't mess with the back ajustments much but have to stiffen the front for the street.

    Stopping the Beast

I agree, 500 feet is not enough. I think though that the 500 feet is the braking distance to the return road. The absolute end is another 200 feet. Not that it matters, its still short.

Yes. I wish my problem was that big.

    Stopping the Beast

Ok. Heres whats going on. After almost 20 years of operation our little 1/4 mile strip is closing. It operated more as a club than a business and the racers typically had input in its operations. It was a great atmosphere, operated every second weekend, participant numbers were low enough to get...

need a little help with removing lower a-arms.

Like BruceH said. Are the bolts all the way out? It might appear that the bolt pinches the sleeve around ball joint. In-fact the ball joint has a shoulder that the bolt sits next to. Keeps the ball joint from falling out. Remove the bolt all the way and tap with a hammer. Should fall out.

torx 50 plus in san antonio area

I used regular T50 here too, just two nights ago. No problem. I dont think the service techs that replace the bolts puts them in super tight anyway, so it should loosen without much effort.

    Trans brake 5r55s

Somewhere I read something from a tranmission builder about square pegs in round holes. Something to do with forward and reverse gears seperated in the valve body not allowing a position between the two. Thats what I remember anyway. Someone who knows more will correct me.

Wow. fast reply. Ok. Thats exactly what I will do. Thanks.

Adjustable control arm, bump steer and toe.

Ok. Here goes. I did a quick search but have not found another with this issue. Recently I installed new BMR adjustable front control arms, QA1 R series coil overs, QA1 camber plates, and QA1 bump steer tie rod ends. In effort to correct the wide track look that the RaceStar wheels make I've...

    Pinion bearing issue

Dynotech uses the adapter piece so probably not the culprit.

    Pinion bearing issue

I have a therory on what might have happened. You state you have a one peice driveshaft. Is this shaft one with the addapter piece at the pinon, or is it one which the whole pinion flange is replaced with a flange (from a 03, 04 cobra or the like)? If the flange replacement type, I'd question...

What DS Loop fits with Kooks LT and Catted X Pipe?

Qwkstang might be more familar with the issue its been a while for me. But I think the round bar on the loop hits the crotch of the x-pipe. I believe slotting the holes is more or less what I tried. Problem is raising the hole, raises the driveshaft loop into the driveshaft. To correct this...

What DS Loop fits with Kooks LT and Catted X Pipe?

I got the double loop Steeda part number 555-5076. Its two piece, well actually three piece, (two loops). I Did not have to remove the drive shaft tho I might have had to drop the x-pipe. Can't really remember. It clears the 4" drive shaft no problem. But as I said earlier its Heavy. They...

What DS Loop fits with Kooks LT and Catted X Pipe?

I had trouble with a BMR and a Competition Engineering driveshaft loops. Both with Kooks and X-pipe, Catted and non-catted. I cut and rewelded the CE part but still ran out of room and patients. I'm now using a Steeda loop. The large double loop system. I was not happy with the added weight...

Towing Tech Thread - Car Transportation

I tow my mustang on a 18' gator trailer. Got a good deal on a used 2011. I find the car has to sit toward the back of the trailer, bumper even with the back, to be properly balanced. Thats ok though because it gave me room on the front for a large box for straps and stuff. I use a weight...

    eagle vs kellogg crank

I guess this is somewhat on topic... Who makes the ModMax cranks. They have forged strokers (3.8" and 3.75") with 2" rod journals listed under their brand.

    Power Brake issues when racing

Another route would be to install a 2-step. I have a 2-step, line lock and PI 3200 stall converter. The line lock and 2-step have individual switches and a common 'hold' button on the steering wheel. I switch the line lock on and hold the button for the burn out. After the burnout i roll...

people with Strange frt brakes or Aerospace

A lot of people are using BMR's adjustable A-arms. I believe they will allow up to 9/16" narrower adjustment per side, in addition they are stronger and lighter than factory. If you don't already have camber bolts (or plates) you'll need these too. Somewhere on this site there is a thread with...

    Sheet metal intake - 3V

I think that you dont need CNC for flanges. Use CMDP's and throttle body spacers. Weld the runners and plenum to the plates and spacers. If I were to build my own, thats how I'd do it.

What is a ballpark idea of what I should be running?

I have similar parts, different manufactures. Biggest differences are I run 275/60/15 in the rear, Cmdc instead of intake, hot rod cams and i run an auto. My best is a 12.18 at 110 with a 1.69 sixty. That was a good day. It usually runs high 12.2s to 12.4s. Sixtys s are usually around 1.73...
