I remember reading a while back that it is possible that fuel may be ignited in a chambered style muffler causing the muffler to eventually fail while using a 2step. Has anyone had any first hand experience with this issue? I know Matt D was running Macs with a 2 step, but I don't recall him ever running into this problem. I tried searching, but no luck.

I currently have Pypes LTs, o/r x, and Mac axlebacks. Going to be putting a WOTbox on the car within the next week, but I don't want to blow out my Macs.

Post up any comments or knowledge you may have! Thanks.

I nearly blew apart my stock mufflers with the WOTBOX but I don't think it was the 2-step...I believe it's the no-lift shift which will cause the occasional backfire.

the wotbox won.
I have straight thru's now and I get the flames but not muffler explosion because the pressure is being let right out.

It can happen.

Would I worry about it happening? No.

Hmm... Good info! Well I do intend to use the no-lift feature so... anyone wanna trade some straight through mufflers for Macs? I'll make a separate thread when I get a chance. Thanks everyone.
