I have Classic Design Concepts hood struts and my "California - something" covers rubbed my struts when the hood was shut. It rubbed the paint off my struts and left marks on the plastic covers. Do these have that same issue?

2005 - 2013 Battery & Master Cylinder Covers Kit

These covers are the perfect accessory to hide the battery and master cylinder and clean the look of your engine bay.
These attach to the front of the cowl, each using the two of the “factory” plastic clips that fasten the cowl to the firewall. Made of the same durable, OEM grade heat resistant material to perfectly match other factory under hood components.

Special Note:
*To fit GT500 models, some hand trimming is require to provide clearance around the throttle body, otherwise it fits perfectly.

Any idea what "some hand trimming" really means?

received mine today. Fast shipping and perfect shape.

As for fitment on MY car there are things to consider if anyone has a similar setup.

The redline hood strut bottom support is in the way, not a major thing, just trim away 1" X 1" and it fits perfect over the master cylinder.

The battery is a different story.

I have an optima yellow top that is mounted on there billet tray on top of the factory, no other way to support it properly that I found. I also have a Kenne Bell 2.6 stage 2 with the large 130mm TB.

The cover needs to be trimmed to clear the TB, not a big deal. But the battery is too high for the cover to sit proper. Idea I have is to come up with a new battery mount or do a relocation.

Other than MY CAR ISSUES, the product and vender did a great job.

Thank you.

Picked them up this morning from the Post Office (I had missed the postlady yesterday) and installed them, just to promptly remove the master cylinder cover when I realized that the driver-side hood strut hits it and lifts the hood a little on that side so I'll have to trim the cover a bit to make room for the hood strut.
But I still love how they looked installed ... of course I took a pic as soon as they were on ... lol
