Yes it is, but I bet the 60th anniversary edition will be a 25. The 50th anniversary edition was a 2015, not a 2014. Ford revised their math sometime after 2009, as the 2009 had 45th anniversary badges, the 2004 had 40th badges, and the 99 had 35th badges along with a special 35th anniversary package available on the GT.

First Mustang is 1964.5. They rounded up. Lol
The first Mustang was always titled a 1965. In reality there is no "1964.5" Mustang, by VIN or title documents. That's why Ford changed and did the 50th anniversary edition as a 2015 to match up with the actual titling of the first Mustang.

I have a 50 year sticker on my rear window from the Vegas show. A 60 would match nicely. Be interesting to see what commemorative model they come up with.

Yes, but the 50th car was actually the 2014. It’s as though the 2015 50th anniversary edition is a tribute to the 2014, as the 2015 is actually the 51st year. That’s….if you really want to get technical…

But -- 1965 (model title year) + 50 = 2015 (model title year)

Maybe it's both lol

Ford marketed the original Mustang as a 1965 model, though Ford made several production changes to cars built after August 1964, by which time Ford had already sold 120,000. Hobbyists refer to early Mustangs as "1964½" models, while post-August cars are "late" 1965s.

Mine's a 2006 GT 5 speed (41st anniversary ha). 60 years is an accomplishment and the mustang name is patriotic.

For the 50th, Ford was selling polo shirts with the 50 Number...has anyone seen one with 60? Internet search comes up with nothing.

April 17th was the anniversary of the Mustang by Ford. Our car club, Inland Empire Mustang Club travelled to City Beach in Sandpoint, ID for a picnic together. Don't know the overall count of our club, at least several hundred I would guess. But 17 mustangs made the run to City Beach from Spokane, Wa. Those of us in convertibles couldn't run with the tops down, just too cold. Actually, it snowed like crazy the day before but was gone by time we got to City Beach.
