I posted this in another thread but I was kinda jacking that thread so I made my own. I've noticed my car making this noise after the second oil change and it's a metallic rattle similiar to an engine pinging. It's not pinging and I can get it to make the sound while idling and just revving the motor. Usually happens between 2k-3k rpm's. The noise is coming from the right (passenger side) head. So the tensioner tsb currently out does not apply to me.
Also, I took the car on a long drive when it had 4.5k miles and it devoloped a very audible lifter tap coming from the passenger (right) side head which did go away on its own the next day. I was told that a stuck/collapsed lifter would not harm or cause any damage to the valvetrain. So I wonder if this noise is directly related? This is not my car but the same exact noise except it seems his is coming from the left head. Please take a listen and tell me what you think. Thanks.
