What is a good option for a replacement automatic transmission?

A 6R80 swap from an 11-14 GT if you want to retain an auto tranny, or convert to a manual (TR3650, TR6060, or T56 Magnum XL).

What needs to be done as far as the pcm for a manual swap?

A manual transmission wiring harness, manual PCM and a manual ABS Module. A clutch/ brake pedal assembly. A manual console. Probably a few other things I am not remembering. I had just swapped a 6r80 from a manual transmission.

Convert the car to manual from a PCM perspective and run a 4r70w with a quick 4. it is the simplest swap and will outlive the car. You can even get a full auto valve body with a trans brake.
