From my personal experience, the Borla S-type stingers droned horribly with the stock mid-pipe in place. Perhaps with high-flow cats and resonators mid mounted before the rear axle may help reduce the amount of cabin drone, but if you're keeping the stock catted mid-pipe? I seriously doubt that just welding in a pair of resonators will make much of a noticeable difference. Meanwhile, I have since switched from the Borla stingers (S-type) to Borla ATAK axle backs. Since making the switch, I've noticed there is still drone when the engine is under a load between 1500-2000 RPM when in 5th gear on the highway, but once above 2000 RPM, the drone goes away. However there is no drone at all whenever the engine is not under a load. When I was still running the Borla stingers, the drone was really bad even when the engine was not under a load until getting above 2200 RPM on the highway at cruising speeds. Anyhow, I would highly recommend that you consider looking into either the Roush extreme mid-mounted cat back exhaust which eliminates the rear axle back mufflers altogether with high-flow resonators mounted before the rear axle or consider the Ford Performance FR500S (M-5230-S) axle back mufflers which do not produce any interior resonance drone at all. That being said, I really don't think you would be disappointed with either the Roush or Ford Performance exhaust setups.
