Well it appears that my car has been lifted by the rear K-Member mounts a few too many times. I raised hell once at a tire place that was rotating mine... I saw them swing their lift pads at them and I kindly directed them to the rails instead. But it has seen two more tire shops and an alignment shop without me there to STOP their using that spot for the lift.

Guys...if you have the K-Member can you take a look at your rear mount points... (the area where the two big bolts go into the torque box). Let me know how yours look. I am considering what I should do. Perhaps pull them back and put a plate there to "stiffen" the area etc.

thanks.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Tetsed that area for a jack stand point. Lowered the car slowly and saw flex. When I attempted to raise the car back up the jack slipped and smashed both sides.
I welded up a puller using 3/8-1/2" steel. One end to catch the rail and the other to catch the inner support and used two bolts in the existing mount bolt holes. Pulled right out no problem.

Mine did it too.... Still is that way.

Rench What did you do?

Shit! This happened a while ago and I kind of forgot about it.

I made up a jig to pull it back out with some scrap steel I had,

ended up cutting it up later to make something else.

I new I should have kept it.

You guys are right, I should have took pics of the puller and the process just wanted to get it fixed at the time.

I'll try and come up with a decent explanation of how to do this and maybe rig up another tool.
