THE TRACK PREP WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! Why tonight??!??!?!? The air is perfect, the car is perfect, everything is perfect, except the track!!! Not to mention all rice retards and soccer dads rolling through the water box and going straight to the line. talk about frustrating. I made 4 runs, first one hooked good the last three i was ridin' spinnaz

First Run:
20 minutes after i got there. Engine is at normal operating temp. front tires at 50psi, rear at 19psi

DA: ~899
60': 1.771
330': 5.144
1/8: 7.974
MPH: 84.75
1000': 10.434
1/4: 12.523
MPH: 105.46

that is my fastest time with a belt on the engine, and it was when the engine was hot. so i figure, i'll let it cool down for an hour and then turn a 12.4x WRONG

Second run:
Spun horribly through first. the car even started to get sideways. at first i thought it was my fault until the next two runs did the same but worse.

DA: ~764
60': 1.974
330': 5.409
1/8: 8.24
MPH: 86.75
1000': 10.710
1/4: 12.795
MPH: 109.76

very frustrating to wait that long and then spin.

3rd run:
like the second, but this time it hooked up a little sooner after the initial spin off.

60': 1.870
330': 5.281
1/8: 8.124
MPH: 84.49
1000': 10.594
1/4: 12.689
MPH: 105.42

Fourth run:
I took the belt off for this one and gave it a 1.5 hour cooldown with a big old 20lb bag of ice on the manifold. In the staging lanes, the car was on for a few seconds just to roll forward, kept the engine cold all the way to the staging lanes.

DA: ~342
60': 1.893
330': 5.265
1/8: 8.076
MPH: 85.31
1000': 10.518
1/4: 12.588
MPH: 106.42

This run had the WORST spinning. FWIW, all my burnouts were good. It spun through first, second, and half of third. at the 1/8 mile mark, the rear end started to swing out towards the wall a bit, i was able to keep it together with the gas all the way down. This run could have been in the 12.3x or maybe better had i not spun at all like normal.

All in all, a very dissapointing night for track prep. i want et street drag radials. and thanks again for the calcs, don!!

What tires are you running? 19 psi seems a bit high for a DR (if your running a DR)

M&H 275/50/17 racemasters... i had always run them at 19psi, i had dropped it to 18 on the last run but it didn't help. the track was just too slick from it not being prepped even once and all the assholes dragging their street car's through the box. Normally they will prep the track twice in a night!

I run 15# in mine M&Hs. I would try them with less air. Also make sure you check it between runs.

Yeah, I run mine at 16psi, and when I get back from a run they are at 17, so I figure after the burnout the heat must raise the air pressure from 16 to 17.

19psi has always worked... i probably should have gone lower but i honestly don't think it would have helped. EVERYONE was spinning.

here's the tires now... is there enough rubber for a few more runs and a drive back?
