Noticed last time I changed out my pads that the front caliper pistons were white & crusty looking - could chippped bits away with putty knife but it is very hard. Could the heat generated from a track day damage the piston? I use High temp fluid, cobalt pads + air ducting. Had no fading last time out.
I've checked around for a rebuild kit for a 2005 but no luck.
Do I try grinding off the crust or leave it alone (suface that contacts the pad is rough & uneven)?

PS Brake peddle seem a little softer even after a full brake system flush.
