CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM CONFUSION

Ok Mustang Peeps this ones got me confused. I recently replaced the defrost actuator because of yes the clicking second time it's been replaced. Anyway now that it's replaced two of the optional air selections Don't work. Face only and face feet don't work well let me clarify face only doesn't work face/feet works but only on feet so it blows only out of the foot duct. I used my left hand to operate the selector switch while my right hand was under the dash touching the actuator I Can feel it moving from selection to selection but when its turned to those two section it either doesn't work or only blows to the feet. Let me not ALL other selections work so I known the arm is in the groove to move the actuator, I should also state there is NO clicking it works as it should save the two selections I've noted. I will add that I noticed when turning it to face/feet it blows through the face vent of just a second before going completely to feet. Also it works perfect when turned to max air blows through the dash vents. I really need help with this as I do Not want to take it to the dealer not only because of the expense but also because it would be admitting defeat.....HELP !!
