Can anyone explain the main difference between the 2005-2008 and mid 2008-2009 COP's. I have a 2009 with damaged heads and I have a basically brand new set of CNC ported 16mm style heads. I know I will need spark plugs. But does everything else match up. I am looking for facts and not assumptions please.

The 2 spark plug styles side-by-side. The coil boot on the late 08-09 is longer. Would probably work fine. OEM 05-early 08 coils are more expensive than the later ones since you have to buy them in single units rather than a kit of 8.

Ok yeah I remember something about the length. People always go to the new heads never to the old ones. But I am special.

You can just swap the boots on your coils. When I went to the new style heads all I did was swap the black boots for brown boots. IIRC they were about $2 each with new conductor springs. Got them from rockauto and they are Motorcraft parts.

You might be able to get by without swapping boots. For me it was cheap enough that I just went ahead and did it.

Yeah good point. I think I will give the ones I have a shot and if it doesn't run right I will swap the boots.

Bruce,
I will take you up on those boots if you have them.

I didn't mean it in a way to be a jerk. I just didn't want people to give me any false information. Also, just wanted to confirm what I knew already.
