Not sure, different production batch maybe?

Interesting.
Just called TSS.

They place those lot numbers on the rings just before shipping.
They record who received what lot numbers when sent out.
If they catch a bad gear going out...or a gear fails after it's gone out...they know who to contact.

Sounds to me like it's one way for them to lookout for us, the end user.

Did anyone ever come up with a definite answer on the springs & plugs?

Do I need to install my spring/plug from my OEM pump into the new housing?
Or am I safe to run the "GT/GT500" spring/plug that came in the new pump?

I don't see why it needs to be changed since Ford labeled the new pump "GT/GT500"

I'd like to start some assembling of my new motor and the oil pump is one of the first things.

Thanks!
