Every since i installed my system, the door subs are going nuts because of the power difference. What are others doing about this? I was just gonna take them out completely.

Thanks.

I unplugged them completely. The only thing you can really do with them is to run them off of a separate small aftermarket amp or replace them with pancake 8" subs on an aftermarket amp. If you are trying to run them off of the factory amps, I wouldnt bother.

i believe you have to take the door cover off and there is a harness plugged into the subs. I just unplugged it. Didnt actually remove them. It has been about 5 years since I did mine so my memory may be distorted. You may just have to unbolt the sub from the door frame and unplug it. I can remember if you can access those bolts to the sub without removing the plastic interior or not.

You can just pull the cover off and unbolt the subs to unplug them; no need to remove the door panel. I had mine swapped out for some RF 8's and I thought it sounded great, but I had a separate amp for them as well.

Forgot about that stupid grommet. You actually may need to pull the door panel off now that I think about it. Matter of fact, mac10 was completely right. I forgot there is a bolt that holds the speaker in place from the back. Why the 8 on the front weren't enough is beyond me. Plus the wiring goes through a grommet and up along the door a bit.

Wish it could have been easier for you.

Out of curiosity, how do you have the subs connected? To a separate amp or to the head unit? Reason I ask is that they could sound like crap if your head unit has three outputs and you don't have one of them configured correctly.

i used the info from taco bill and wired a 1.5K ohm resistor into each of the remote wires for the door subs and it took care of the pop.

taco bill link
radio shack Resistor

all useful if you didnt already pull the door panel off. easy to do and the shaker subs do the job for good bass if you dont have anything in the trunk
