Thanks a lot! Mostly stock. Just a JLT intake for the most part!

Best thing I did to improve my 60 foot times is launching at 3500rpm, but slipping the clutch to keep from roasting them. Got me down in the 1.7-1.8 area. Still get spin once in a while, but better than my 2.2 before..lol.

I've been running at Martin US-131 speedway. I live in paw paw which is 15 mins west of kalamazoo, so martin is only a 20 min drive from my house.

Bad thing is that i'm putting a whipple on in a week and I don't want to cage my car so I don't think they will let me run. I'll be under the time that requires me to have a cage. Might get one run in..lol.

Looks like a nicer place that Milan! Too bad it's 2 hours away from me. I would love to try a few differebt tracks out though to see how they compare!

One good thing about Milan is that they let things slide a little! I have a convertible but I think if I ran faster that 13.49 I don't think they would bug me about the cage! as long as i'm not running 12.0 i think they would leave me alone! Good luck with the Whipple. I would like some form of forced induction some day!

Look at the spydershaft for your car. You'll pick up .2 on your times and shed about 35lbs off your car. I think it is a must have. $479 plus shipping for a 1 piece drive shaft and it got rid of some of the slop in the drivetrain. Hopefully nothing goes BOOM before this fall when I can slap some new rods in it and up the boost even more.

I never joined mf, but was a member of a few others. I just got sick of the bullshit rules and wanted something dedicated to the S197 only, so I started this site. People are slowly finding it, hopefully the word gets out. Its not really optimized for search engines, but I really don't want it to grow to rapidly either. So far it looks like it is going to become a pretty big site, but member friendly unlike some of the other sites.:wasted:

Welcome to the site Brandon! :beerdrink: We may not be the biggest, but we're definitely the best!!

And I'd suggest some good drag tires as a starting point to getting those 60' times down where you want them. The more mods you add, the more you'll need them anyway.

I just got some cheap 17" rims and some Nitto drag radials! don't remember what size but I can check! I wanted something that I can put on at the house and drive to the track. Not ready for slicks yet! Convertibles cannot go too fast or I will find out just how well
Milan dragway enforces the rules! My car is mostly a street car but i would like to make a good showing at the track when I do go! I'll try working on my launching a bit and see where to go from there! Does anybody know if I need to heat up drag radials in the water box??? All new to me!

I'd guess they are 275/40-17s or 254/45-17s... that's the only 17" tires Nitto makes in the 555R drag radial. I hope you have good luck with them. I know of many people who aren't real thrilled with the Nitto DRs at the track.

I'll try them out and see! I hope i'm not dissapointed with them. Just in case what other options do I have? I probably should have asked that before I went and ordered in the first place! Live and learn I guess!

The 275/40-17 Mickey Thompson ET Street radial is a proven performer.
