Does the roush s/c intake have to be routed that way?

They changed it to the other side in 2010. I would say it would be a bit difficult to change direction as everything is setup for the side it's routed. However I have never tried it, perhaps someone has and could pipe up that has.

The blower inlet is cast on the passenger side, you would need the newer head unit to be able to put the inlet elbow and throttle body on the driver's side.

However you could probably fab up a CAI on the passenger side if you could make room for it. The only reason Roush used that stupid wrap around tube is so they could keep the air filter box in the same location as stock.

You could run a Kenne Bell inlet tube with cone filter under the passenger headlight. Cooler air from under the passenger headlight too!
