fuel pump Q

Im in the middle, well rather end of doing a gt500 swap into my fox and got a question on the gt500 pump assembly. 1st, i simply swapped the locking ring from thr gt500 tank to my fox tank and the pumps slide right in. The depth was spot on. Question, i plugged the pick up line for the pass saddle tank. This shouldnt effect any fuel flow or anything should it? I took the factory pick up line (plastic) and heated it up and crimped it flat with pliers. so it could draw no fuel. This whole contraction is only about 2 inches, and i installed it on the pump where the factory pick up tube for the pass side was?

i believe most people just run the line straight down and leave it open to allow it to still pull fuel like it would stock.

Yeap could have just left it open either way should be fine.
