Without getting my head ripped off!!! I found a used 2007 GT500 that my wife gave the green light to buy it. I see a lot of the GT500 cars getting (claiming) 6-700hp. Do you have to change any of the internals (pistons or rods) to accomplish these hp levels?

Thanks

Nope - although any more power than that and your odds of internal or head failure definitely increase with stock equipment. 600-700 are pretty common HP levels for typically modded Cobras. Good luck.

Once you get into the 700s, you start running the risk of popping something. Up unto that point you should be pretty good.

many of the group I hang with are in the mid 700's rwhp and some have kissed the 800 mark on stock internals...the first thing I have seen go was the trans and clutch when the power levels get that high....as in all its all in the tune....
