Hey everyone I've been trying to get in touch with lito for months now. We were going through data logs to fix the treturn to idle issues I've had. The last time I even got a revision was before December. Last reply I received was in Dec ber staying that he just got back and is going to play catch up on everything..it is now April and I haven't heard anything meanwhile I'm seeing others that have received a revision or have talked to him. I kinda feel like I'm just being left in the dark here. Lito has always done me and many others well but I feel like he just got frustrated with my car and moved on. I know the hotrod cams and other cams are hard to tune sometimes as far as returning to idle goes. We got mine very close. We got all of my datalogs done tuned it with the help of my wideband gauge and everything up top is perfect. Only issue is the return to idle. I know I'm not the only one that has had issues with cams. I've done absolutely everything I was asked. Brand new full bolt on 3v long block with about 10,000 miles on it now. Brand new final revision motorcraft spark plugs. New oem fuel filter...mods I have..Ford performance twin 62 mm throttle body, jlt series 3 Cai, ford performance intake manifold, BBK Longtubes, msd blaster red ignition coils. Exedy stage 2 clutch and lightweight flywheel The idle issues I'm having is that sometimes if the engine is revved, the rpms will fall to about 500 almost stall and shoot back up to idle. Sometimes it will go back to idle, then Rev up. Few hundred rpms for a second or 2 then back down. I have tried and checked everything I can think of. I do have a JLT Catch can on the driver side valve cover. I have cleaned the maf..I opened both valve covers up to atmosphere, and I have bypassed both vct solenoids temporarily to see if any of those caused the issue. Nothing did. I can't find or think of a single thing that would cause this other than the tune.
Now I mentioned the lightweight flywheel only for the simple fact that with a lighter flywheel it will Rev up and down to idle quicker than stock..these sort of things I'm sure can be accounted for in the tune so it doesn't try to Rev down so fast.
